Our Approach- A pioneering Initiative in Urban Sanitation

Transforming Urban Sanitation

Our multi-faceted approach aims to revolutionize urban sanitation across India through innovative initiatives that empower communities and enhance infrastructure. By focusing on collaboration between citizens and urban local bodies (ULBs), we develop tailored solutions that address the unique needs of each town.

Through our comprehensive strategies, we strive to ensure safe, dignified, and sustainable sanitation for all.

Toilets 2.0 (T2.0)

T2.0 is dedicated to transforming the landscape of public and community toilets across urban India by fostering collective action between citizens and ULBs. We are actively supporting towns and cities in comprehensive planning efforts to ensure the adequate provision and saturation of Community and Public Toilets (CT/PT).

This initiative focuses on developing sustainable operational plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each locale.

In alignment with the City Sanitation Action Plan (CSAP)-3A, T2.0 assists these cities in creating aspirational toilet facilities that meet the highest standards of sanitation. Additionally, valuable lessons learned from these towns and cities will be shared through MoHUA in the form of insightful case studies. These findings will play a crucial role in informing the development of appropriate guidelines for Community and Public Toilets (CT/PT) across the nation.

Manhole to Machine-hole (M2M)

Our initiative aims to empower towns and cities to attain the prestigious designation of Safaimitra Surakshit Sheher, ensuring the safety and dignity of sanitation workers. This effort includes a thorough assessment of gaps within the Safaimitra Surakshit Sheher framework and the establishment of Responsible Sanitation Authorities (RSA) and Emergency Response Sanitation Units (ERSU).

In addition, the project places a strong emphasis on the licensing of desludging operators, providing essential support for the profiling and enumeration of sanitation workers. To further enhance the safety and well-being of these dedicated individuals, we facilitate the distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits across all participating locations.

Used Water Management

This initiative conducts comprehensive feasibility studies to formulate city-specific UWM plans for towns and cities. By leveraging insights from the unique topographical and hydrogeological conditions of each location, we develop tailored approaches for effective UWM planning and implementation under the SBM-U 2.0.

This process not only involves a thorough assessment of local conditions but also generates valuable learnings that will inform MoHUA on technical approaches for UWM and SBM 2.0 implementation. Through this collaborative effort, we aim to enhance urban water management strategies across the participating towns.

Our approach to UWM strategy integrates in-depth feasibility studies with a focus on city-specific solutions, aligned with SBM-U 2.0, ensuring sustainable and scalable urban water strategy for each town and visualized through the process depicted here.
